Shri. Amar Nath joined at LBS National Academy of Administration, Mussoorie from September, 1994 to May, 1995 as Officer Trainee in Indian Administrative Service and from June, 1995 to July, 1996, he worked in Govt. of Rajasthan. Shri. Amar Nath served in Govt. of National Capital Territory of Delhi as Chief Executive Officer, Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board, Special Secretary (Finance), Vice Chairman, Delhi Agricultural Marketing Board in the year July, 2008 to July, 2011. During the year 2003 to 2005, he was in Delhi as Secretary, Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board (DSSSB).

      In Chandigarh Administration, Shri. Amar Nath worked as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chandigarh Housing Board and Director, Department of Rural Development, from May, 2005 to July, 2008. He also served as Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and Officer in-charge of various departments. During the year 1999 to 2003, Shri. Amar Nath was at Government of Arunachal Pradesh as Secretary, Department of Planning and Programme Implementation, Department of Economics and Statistics and Department of Tourism. There he worked as Deputy Commissioner/ District Magistrate, District of Papumpare, Itanagar. Shri. Amar Nath has experience in working at Govt. of Pondicherry from August,1998 to October, 1999 as Secretary, Department of Industrial Development, Department of Labour and Managing Director, Pondicherry Distilleries Limited. Development, Department of Labour and Managing Director, Pondicherry Distilleries Limited. He also worked as Probationary Officer, State Bank of India and as Management Trainee in Steel Authority of India Ltd. (SAIL).

      Shri. Amar Nath did his Bachelor of Science (Mechanical Engineering) from National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, Kurukshetra University and MA (International Development Policy) from Duke University, USA.
