Plan for the coming years:
(a)
To equip the Govt. Press with latest equipments considering the tremendous technological changes in the field of printing
industry.
(b)
Considering the importance in the field of confidential printing of States/UTs
etc. to set up one Press as
Security Printing Press with latest technology and well qualified staff.
(c)
Lakshadweep is entering No. 1 in
the Tourism Map. To cope up the
demand, it is proposed high quality machine and well qualified
manpower to produce best quality
multicolor tourism pamphlets etc.

(d)
To meet the production of entire text books and other books for education
department of U. T. as well as for other states also to make
the project economically viable.
(e)
Considering the progress in the field of IT it is proposed to have the
production of entire computer
stationery materials from this
territory itself. During the year
(2003-04) this department have installed one pack to pack computer
stationery printing machine with an aim to supply the materials required for Electricity,
Port etc.
(f) Modernise the facility to enable the
simultaneous publication of LakshadweTimes daily from all islands.
