| The Hon’ble Administrator Shri J K Dadoo IAS flagged off the Interceptor Boat
supplied to the U.T. Administration by the Govt. of India under the Coastal
Security Scheme on 11th December 2009 at 4 PM at a function organized at Paradise Hut
in Kavaratti. Shri Ranvir
Singh IPS, Superintendent of Police welcomed the dignitaries and others in
function and briefed about the objective of Coastal Security Scheme and the
operational capabilities of the Interceptor Boat. Shri. A Jalaludheen

IRBN, Shri Haripal District
and Sessions Judge, Shri Santosh
B Nair Commandant Coast Guard and Smt. Kunhibi Chairperson VDP Kavaratti were present on the
occasion. The Hon’ble Administrator in his inaugural address,
emphasized the need of establishing Coastal Police Stations in all the islands
and the need for protecting vast coastal area and exclusive economic zone of
Lakshadweep for security as well as in the interest of the local fishermen. |
